Client 1
A family-owned consortium of companies including a lumberyard, trucking business and construction contractor.
Challenge
Company needed robust, integrated information systems including accounting software.
Solution
- BCC implemented a Windows-based system and configured Passport accounting software.
- BCC developed an automated workflow process utilizing Passport Business Solutions and new technology that integrated estimating, sales and back office procedures.
- BCC coordinated various contractors and analysts including the company's existing technology contractor.
- All employees now use the same estimating and billing system, which eliminated manually produced tickets.
- The Passport solution implemented by BCC also allowed the lumberyard to automatically produce a 168-page catalog through a database, as well as an online catalog accessible to all users. Universal changes can be made at any time.
- BCC changed the way the company did business, significantly reducing workflow time.
Client 2
A regional chain of grocery stores with catering, baking and trucking interests.
Challenge
- Client required a biometrics time clock that worked with a Windows database, but the company used Novell/Unix.
- Company stores are far from technical support, parts and maintenance, so system reliability and redundancy were paramount.
- BCC designed a new system that included three servers: one Windows, one Novell and a "blank" server that could replace either of the others if needed. The new system offered extreme redundancy with a backup of two servers every night.
- The biometrics time clock automatically generates a CSV file e-mailed to corporate headquarters for customized import to Passport and accounting software.
- The stores generate an accounts payable CSV file e-mailed to corporate headquarters for customized import into the Passport accounting system, eliminating manual entry and possible human error on hundreds of payables weekly.
